LIP BLUSH

Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo used to enhance natural lip color with a healthy and youthful tone ideal for all skin types. Lip blush can also give the appearance of fuller lips, and improve the shape of the lips. This technique can help correct discoloration, hyper/hypo pigmentation, asymmetry, scars, and fordyce spots with a natural-looking boost of color for everyday wear without the smudge of traditional lipsticks! This procedure is ideal for individuals with dark lips that wish to lighten the color using a technique called Melanin-rich Lip Neutralization or to add color to their pale lips.

Lip blush provides long lasting natural pigmented lips. This is not meant to replace wearing lipstick, rather, it leaves a lip stain effect perfect for no make-up days to have you looking naturally snatched. There are different shades of pigments available for different skin tones, lip tones, and preferences made customizable to your needs.

How To Prepare For Your Lip Blush Appointment:

– Lips must not be dry for the procedure! Keep them fully moisturized with an ointment like Aquaphor starting a week prior to the procedure.

– Exfoliate lips 1 week before the procedure using a soft toothbrush or a lip scrub.

– Drink lots of water to keep skin hydrated and healthy for procedure.

– No alcohol, coffee, tea, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or blood thinner products 24 hours before treatment.

– No fillers, facials, or chemical peels should be administered to you 4 weeks before treatment.

– If you use or have used any other medications, please advise.

If you have a history of cold sores:

Contact your doctor for a prescription of anti-viral medication which you should start 3 days prior to the procedure and continue for 3 days after the procedure.

During Your Lip Blush Appointment

During the lip blush procedure, your permanent makeup artist will:

1. Numbing: Apply a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. This ensures your comfort throughout the process.

2. Pigment selection: Choose a pigment color that suits your desired lip shade and skin tone. The artist will take into account factors such as your natural lip color, complexion, and personal preferences.

3. Application: Using a specialized tattooing device, the artist will carefully implant the pigment into the upper layers of your lips, creating a soft, natural-looking lip blush effect. The process typically takes around 2 to 3 hours, including numbing and consultation time.

Aftercare Instructions for Beautiful Lip Blush

To ensure optimal healing and long-lasting results, it's important to follow these aftercare instructions:

1. Keep the area clean and dry: For the first 24 to 48 hours after the procedure, avoid getting the treated area wet. Refrain from touching, licking, or rubbing your lips to prevent infection and color loss.

2. Apply aftercare ointment: Gently apply a thin layer of the provided aftercare ointment on your lips to keep them moisturized and promote healing. Follow the artist's instructions on how frequently to apply the ointment.

3. Avoid excessive sun exposure: Protect your lips from direct sunlight, as it can cause the pigment to fade prematurely. Use a lip balm with SPF when exposed to the sun.

4. Avoid certain activities: Refrain from activities that may cause excessive sweating, such as intense workouts, saunas, or steam rooms, for the first few days after the procedure. Sweating can disrupt the healing process and affect the color retention.

Appointment Duration

A lip blush appointment typically lasts between 2 to 3 hours. The duration may vary depending on factors such as the desired lip shape, the complexity of the procedure, and the artist's technique. The artist will ensure to take the necessary time to achieve your desired lip blush results.

Healing Process:

Day 1-2: Lips will be swollen and tight, swelling will subside after 24 hours. Hot and spicy foods should not be consumed and straw should be used until scabs have fallen off.

Day 3-5: Lips will feel very dry/chapped, keep lips moisturized. Scabs will begin to fall off. DO NOT PICK AT SCABS. It is crucial to let scabs fall off naturally for best healed results.

Day 5-30: Scabs have fallen off and color will continue to bloom for the next 3 weeks. Lips may still be dry and must be kept moisturized until the touch-up session. Touch ups are done 4-6 weeks after initial appointment, 8 weeks for darker lips.

Active Lifestyle

If you live an active lifestyle, participate in sports daily, or spend your days running around, permanent lip liner may benefit you. There will be no lipstick. There’s no need to worry about your lipstick smudging or rubbing off. Furthermore, cosmetic products can be harmful to the skin.

Long-Lived Results

With permanent lipstick, natural hypoallergenic pigments are planted in the upper layer of your lip. While the lip color may fade faintly over time, you can maintain the outcome and enjoy fuller lips for years. If you see any symptoms of color fading, you can have a touch-up to restore your tattoo’s shape and color.

Therapeutic

Permanent lip liners can be an excellent solution to disguise troublesome parts of your lips. In addition, it can be used to reshape an existing lip outline and form that has been damaged by light burns, scarification, or sunburns caused by a certain medical condition. For instance, oral cancer patients frequently experience significant depigmentation due to chemotherapy treatment and can benefit from permanent lip liner procedures.
